It is a process to develop the plan about how the research will be conducted. It is all about collecting data from different sources including primary and secondary data, then process those data in research methods, analyses the same in provide the outcome or conclusion of the same called research design(Kothari, 2008). The researcher design explains the entire process of research work starting from data matrix, research methods, sampling, data collection, target respondent, ethical consideration and questionnaire design. Research design draws the research entire process of the above activities.
3.1 Data Matrix
Data matrix tells about the source of the information and explains which kind of data will be collected and how it will be collect so that the research work can get best outcome of research.
Table 3.1.1 Data Matrix
Above table shows that primary and secondary data will be collected from different sources and the data can be bifurcated in two different types: one is quantitative and second is qualitative. The primary quantitative data will be collected through profile statistics, descriptive information, analysis and rating or ranking. The primary qualitative data will be collected from responses received, suggestions and comments by participants. The secondary data will be collected from financial analysis, market share and growth with strategy analysis.
3.2 Research Methodology
This section explains the different methods of conducting research for the purpose to get the appropriate outcome of the subject. Based on the subject or topic requirement, conducting research by choosing more relevant method to find out the outcome is called research methodology(Rajasekar, et al., 2013). It also can be mentioned as the path way of choosing a more related method to get good success ratio. Choosing method which will get closer outcome is called research methodology(Kothari, 2008).
3.2.1 Research Method
Research methods are different method which can be used for the purpose to conduct the research to get outcome of the specified subject. It is a process and algorithm of conducting research on particular subject or topic(Rajasekar, et al., 2013). Normally the research method chosen based on the type of project researcher are conducting and type of outcome which researcher is expecting like conclusion or new outcome to find out something new from the research like new innovation about the particular topic.
Conclusive research method and exploratory research method are the two research method for conducting research work in major project. Both the research method uses for different type of subjects. The conclusive research method majorly used for the subject which has requirement to conclude the topic. Whereas the exploratory research method majorly uses to find out something new from the topic and identify the issues about the some consequences. The conclusive researcher method has two different ways to conduct the research which are causal type and descriptive type. Both of the method is good in terms of getting proper response. A causal research method is particularly to find out the issue within the subject and how it can be resolve the same. Whereas descriptive method gives the conclusion based on data collected from different sources and depth analysis of research data received to provide with outcome about subject. Just like the business plan has requirement to use different strategy, the research work also has the different strategies. Majorly used strategies are survey research, archival research, experimental research, action research and case study research.
This project is all about to get the information and based on the same provide the business plan to increase the market share of the company in India market. This is something which has requirement to choose the conclusive method. Based on the topic and requirement of the same the Conclusive research method will be used for the research. Under the conclusive research, descriptive method with strategies like survey and archival research will be appropriate to use. This type of strategy and research method will give proper outcome with relevant information collections and also this is considered to be effective method in the current scenario that would help the initial analysis accordingly.
3.2.2 Sample Unit
Target respondent for particularly this research work will be the youngster’s age group 18 to 30. The secondary sample unit will be the corporate employee and regular customer from the different outlets across country.
3.2.3 Sampling Method
Sampling method is one of the best parts of research work. Sampling methods helps to find out the appropriate sample needs to store and analyzed based on their different group prepared based on the information received. Two types of research methods majority researchers use which are probability sampling method and method of non-probability. Both the methods have its strategy to use. If research chooses probability method it has to uses the strategy of systematic sampling, stratified sampling and multistage of sampling. The non-probability method has strategy like quota system, convenience and judgment sampling.
The research method considering important process considered based on the suggestion and recommendation. Majority research choses the non-probability method because it is easy to understand. This research will be conducted using the non-probability method. The non-probability methods strategy like judgement does the process of judging the sample and does analysis on the same. The quota systems divide the information based on the different quota like age, income, education, occupation etc. The convenience method is the more useful as researcher can sample the information based on the convenience of researcher as well as customers. This research work will be conducting the convenience and judgement strategy of research sampling. The main reason for choosing this sampling method is because the process of finding the target segment of respondents is considered to be effectively achieved and attained and this strategy helps in choosing the segments of the respondents in a perfect manner.
3.2.4 Sample Size
Ideal sample size for this major project will be minimum100 and maximum as many as sample can be collected in provided time lines. It has requirement if minimum 100 response from different location to judge the response from different location of country.
3.2.5 Survey Location
Survey location will be the Bangalore as birth city of company and Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata as major consumption of coffee for the company.
3.2.6 Collection Method
The questionnaire will be send to the customer by the email, internet and other social media. The primary data will be collected through internet survey method, email survey method by providing them with self-administrative question. The secondary data will be collected using internet, book, other social informative website related to topic.
3.2.7 Ethical Issues
Ethical issues are sensitive in nature. An ethical issue is very critical in nature because it is an academic offence which is punishable as per the law. The issues like informed consent, plagiarism, right to refusal, impartiality, unprofessionalism, confident information and privacy needs to take care during research work.
- Informed Consent:It has requires for researcher to disclose all the type of outcome and consequences by taking part in research which customer may have to face(Hicks, 2008).
- Privacy and Confidentiality: The data which has collected from participant is requires keeping private and confidential and shall not be disclose to any other purpose or any other individual.
- Right to Refusal: Researcher shall inform the participant about their right to refuse taking part in this researcher work and no participant will be forced to take part in the research work(Siegle, 2014).
- Professionalism and Impartiality: The full process of research shall be done in strictly professional way and during the analysis of the data and information received not partiality will be done to get better result.
- Plagiarism: The process under which researcher uses the other authors work or researcher without giving reference or citation stating it as its own work is called plagiarism(Kamat, 2006).
3.3 Questionnaire Design
Questionnaire design prepares the questions related to the influencing factors to get the responses which help the researcher to reach on the conclusion based on the data or responses collected from participant. The question types are subject wisequestion;profile question, background question and the administrative question are some of the type of question which normally researchers ask for survey.
